NetBSD 10.2 released: It represents a selected subset of fixes deemed important for security or stability reasons since the release of NetBSD 10.1 in December 2024. It is fully compatible with NetBSD 10.0. This release includes security updates for ipfilter, telnet, kernel TCP support, OpenSSL, Unbound, and X.Org. It improves the stability of the iwm(4) Wi-Fi driver, and fixes support for Olimex A64 and MIPS R5000SC systems. Newly available is the ability to boot an amd64 kernel directly with QEMU’s -kernel option.
ekkoBSD 2.1 Released: After more than two decades of dormancy, ekkoBSD has returned with release 2.1delivering a small, auditable 4.4BSD-derived operating system for amd64 featuring a modern build system, updated handbook, and 742 native .mom packages.

GEFS on OpenBSD: A Very Early Preview: Ori Bernstein has published an early preview port of GEFS to OpenBSD, bringing the copy-on-write, snapshotting filesystem originally written for 9front into the kernel. The implementation is under 9,000 lines of code and is not yet production-ready, with remaining work focused on error handling, userspace tools, and POSIX compatibility.
