Sylve: Proxmox-Like FreeBSD Virtualization with Cluster Support: Sylve is a modern, open-source bhyve and jail manager for FreeBSD, offering a Proxmox-like Web UI with built-in cluster management. It simplifies virtualization using Bhyve (VMs), Jails (containers), and ZFS storage, with a backend in Go and a SvelteKit frontend for a clean, responsive interface. The project aims to boost FreeBSD adoption in enterprises and homelabs by addressing long-standing gaps in usability and clustering. Upcoming features include iSCSI, WireGuard, firewall integration, and backup support (Zelta).
Stretched Layer 2 Network for bhyve VMs with FreeBSD & VXLAN: This guide demonstrates how to create a stretched Layer 2 network for bhyve VMs across geographically distributed FreeBSD hosts using VXLAN and CBSD. It addresses challenges like cross-site VM communication, avoiding NAT, and enabling broadcast/multicast support for clustering or distributed storage.
